These classes consist of 4 classes that are each 90 minutes long. They are held at 4:30 on the same day of the week for one month.

Kid/Teen Weekly Classes

November Kid/Teen Classes

Dates: 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 11/26

Length of Class: 1.5 hours

Ages: 8-18

Glass Reflection

In this class, students will use white charcoal pencil on black paper

We will begin by practicing charcoal pencil techniques and their final project will be to draw a still life of glassware and shade it with a white charcoal pencil.

Gold Zentangle

 

In this class, students will use watercolor to create a background and metallic gold pens for the designs

We will begin by trying out a few watercolor techniques and then students will choose the ones they like most to create the background for their final project. They will use gold sharpies and paint pens to create zentangles over their painting.

January Kid/Teen Classes

Dates: 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28

Scratch Art Animal 

In this class, students will use scratch board and metal scratching tools to create the texture seen on their animal of choice.

We will begin by practicing scratch board techniques and creating value. Then students will choose their final animal, transfer it onto their scratch board, and add value using their scratch tool.

Floral Watercolor

 

In this class, students will use watercolor, white paint pens, and metallic gold paint to create these designs

We will begin by practicing multiple watercolor techniques. Then students will create their own unique design within a geometric shape. The final touch will be to add white marker and metallic gold paint.

February Kid/Teen Classes

Dates: 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25

Zentangle Face

In this class, students will use pen, chalk pastel, and colored pencil

Students will practice creating zentangle and op art designs. They will have the option of drawing their face or cutting it out. Then they will create patterns surrounding their face and add small amounts of color.

Charcoal Flowers

 

In this class, students will use white charcoal on black paper

We will begin by practicing drawing the same flower step-by-step with charcoal pencil techniques. For the final project, students can create any composition of flowers they would like

March Kid/Teen Classes

Dates: 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23

Length of Class: 1.5 hours

Bubble Drawing

In this class, students will use chalk pastel on black paper

We will begin by students completing a step-by-step practice bubble as I demonstrate it. Then they will have the chance to draw as many bubbles as they wish in any composition that they choose.

Multi-Paper Fruit Drawing

 

In this class, students will create their own background by combining many different papers. Then students will use colored pencil to draw their fruit

We will begin by practicing still life drawings with fruit. Then students will create their final paper by combining many types of pages. Students will complete their final still life drawing on the paper that they created.

April Kid/Teen Classes

Dates: 4/7, 4/14, 4/21, 4/28

Length of Class: 1.5 hours

Ages: 8-18

Christine Kim Inspired Portraits 

In this class, students will use charcoal to draw a person, then they will add various doilies, watercolor, and cut paper to create the background for this piece.

This project is inspired by the artist Christine Kim. We will begin by practicing charcoal pencil techniques, facial features, and shading. Then they will draw either their face or a face from a reference photo. They will create a multi-media background.

Gold Straw 3D Geometric Shape

In this class, students will use gold straws, wire, and geometric patterns to create 3D geometric shapes

We will begin by making a practice project with pipe cleaners. Then students will cut their straws to the necessary size and join them with wire.
